The latest version of Item Toolkit offers a multitude of improvements supporting an automated and iterative SSA approach from external system models via Reliability Prediction Analyses all the way through to Fault Tree Analyses.

With this latest version of Item Toolkit we are further closing the gap to a fully integrated Model Based Safet Analysis (MBSA) approach in the spirit of ARP4754 B !

The following features were added to ItemToolkit V9.8.6 to ease and expedite the otherwise tedious process of a fully quantified system safety analyis:

1. Import Wizzard - generalization as to enable flawless import of system architecture models from external database sources including model assigned failure rates, failure modes and monitoring test.

1.1 Currently optimized for ML-Simulink model import

1.2 Can be generalized for any other input format on request

2. Reliability Prediction Modules

2.1 Additional failure rate parametrization using specific multipliers for field experience, manufacturers data, SEU, FH/OH ratio etc.

2.2 Additional link- and transfer-capability added between reliability prediction systems to allow for gradual and steady transition from functional PSSA budgeting to hardware-based relliability data during SSA phase.

2.3 Addition of a target failure rate to all reliability prediction modules including logic to identify and highlite all components exceeding the pre-set target rate.

3. Global Edit Menu -  Additional failure rate parametrization available under global parameters to expedite data customization.

4. FMECA Module

4.1 Elimination of need to manually edit FTA failure models with introduction of all new transfer-algorithm FMECA to FTA  considering all available FMECA failure mode characteristics.

4.2 Introduction of new "Immediately Evident"-flag and consideration when transfering to FTA failure model (model type, failure rate, inspection interval etc.)
